EXTENSION OF MACROOM E ENTERPRISE CENTRE

The Macroom E Enterprise Centre is pleased to announce that it is expanding to provide further space for start-up businesses in Macroom.  The Enterprise Centre has been in existence for six years and this extension will provide four own-door office units to allow start-up businesses to grow their business.  The extension will allow for an additional 3,000 square foot of enterprise space in the Centre. 

On Monday 29th March, the contract with PJ Walls Construction for the new extension was signed by Sharon Corcoran, Director of Cork County Council and Chairperson of Macroom E. Present at the signing were Mayor of Cork County, Cllr. Derry Canty, the Town Mayor, Cllr. Evelyn McSweeney; elected representatives Cllr. Martin Coughlan, Cllr. Andreas Moynihan; and County Manager, Martin Riordan.  Also present were Liam Kelly and Jacqui Norton of Enterprise Ireland; Sean O'Sullivan, CEO, South Cork Enterprise Board; Ger Power and Noel O'Driscoll from Cork County Council; Breda Duggan, Macroom Town Council along with representatives from PJ Walls; Michael Barrett Partnership and Michael Cronin Consulting Engineer.

Work on the new extension will commence in the next month, and will be completed by PJ Walls Construction. The extension will be funded by Cork County Council, Macroom Town Council, the South Cork Enterprise Board, Enterprise Ireland and Macroom E.

Speaking at the contract signing, Sharon Corcoran, Director of Cork County Council and Chairperson of Macroom E said "This is a very exciting time for Macroom E and all involved. At a time when it is more challenging than ever to trade, it is important that platforms are being laid down to support local business and encourage entrepreneurship, and this new extension at the E Centre will provide an ideal platform for new businesses."
