VIP's Man of Style Nominee, chooses equally Stylish Car

28 February 2008

A man who knows a great deal about quality cars is TG4's Golden Boy Dáithí O'Shea,  having driven every historic mile of the 2,500 miles of Route 66 - from Los Angeles to Chicago last summer for his popular TV show "Dáithí ar Route 66".  This year he will take on the freeways of the United States once more and bring back another entertaining series of his exploits over the pond!

While he is on more terra-ferma back home, Dáithí's mode of transport is a very reliable yet sophisticated Volkswagen Passat.  A classically stylish car that befits Dáithí, recently nominated for a coveted VIP Style Award 2008.

Dáithí stated "What I like about my Passat is that it is an extremely reliable and safe car, without compromising on functionality, design, or shape.  This is my second Volkswagen Passat and boy did I miss some of the features it has on my Coast to Coast journey in the States last year.  We go back to the States in the summer to do a second series of "Dáithí ar Route 66" and my only regret is that I can't take my beloved Passat with me!!"

Dáithí always upgrades his Passats through Newmarket Motors, who are conveniently located in the centre of Munster, so handy where ever Dáithí is on his travels.  "It's great dealing with Sean and the team at Newmarket Motors.  I like the fact that it is a family run business, and there is always a friendly face when I call in for the car's regular servicing.  It's great having such a reliable car and I like to make sure to keep my Passat in tip top condition, looking and feeling great inside and out."

You can catch Dáithí nightly on TG4, as the station's resident weatherman and to vote for Dáithí in the forthcoming VIP Style Awards simply text VIPMAN10 to 53150 or fill in the application form in this month's edition of VIP Magazine
