Good news comes in twos at The Farm Store with the appointment of two new employees

12 December 2012

The Farm Store is pleased to announce the appointment of two new employees to their ever expanding team. The appointments come on the back of a busy year for the company, with the development of their overseas market and the expansion of the organisation in Ireland.

Gearoid Maher has been appointed as sales representative for the Limerick and North Cork regions. With a BagrSc degree in Agriculture, coming from a farming background, and now owning his own farm, Gearoid adds a wealth of experience to the team at The Farm Store. Gearoid also boasts a year's sales experience dealing directly with farmers in the animal health industry.

In his new role, which was created by The Farm Store as a result of a new partnership developed with GEA Farm Technologies earlier this year, Gearoid will spread the word about the new hygiene protocols they are offering to dairy farmers all over the region. Through milk sampling, dairy farmers availing of the free service from The Farm Store will be able to identify the source of mastitis causing infection on their individual farm.

Gearoid will also be selling the ALKABUPHA and Alkalage range, which is seeing massive growth in beef and dairy herds alike, solving the acidity problems created by poor silage harvested this year. Feed, minerals, agrical, and dosing chemicals will also be part of his portfolio. The Farm Store prides itself on knowing what its customers need and want, and strives to supply the best quality products. Gearoid will play an integral role in their drive to discover new and better quality products that will meet the needs of the modern farmer.

Padraig Brennan has joined The Farm Store as Store Manager in their Belgooly store, which opened in early 2012. Padraig, from Ballinhassig, Co. Cork, holds an Advanced Certificate in Dairy Herd Management from Clonakilty Agricultural College (Darrara College). Padraig brings a wealth of practical knowledge and experience to his new role, having spent the last two years working on dairy farms in Blarney and Bandon.

Padraig join's The Farm Store's excellent, technically trained team which is committed to running the day-to-day operations and ensuring that their customers enjoy excellent customer service and fast, easy access to the agri products they need.

Founded in 1976, The Farm Store, with stores in Bandon and Belgooly, Co. Cork, is a locally owned operation that has grown considerably through the years, while remaining committed to the same local style business philosophy that has been the foundation of their success.
