Ballincollig announced as first town to benefit from The Beacon Retail Programme in 2014.

08 January 2014

Following the success of the Beacon Retail Programme in 2013, where the pilot phase was launched in Charleville in September followed by Youghal in November, Ballincollig has just been announced as the first town to launch in 2014, on Wednesday 15thJanuary.

The initial public meeting will take place in Oriel House Ballincollig at on Wednesday 15th January and all retailers in the Ballincollig area are encouraged and welcome to attend, where they will meet The Beacon Retail Programme team to see what can be done for their businesses.

The programme is designed to help retailers in the Ballincollig Region. The experts on the Beacon Retail Programme team of consultants will help retailers revitalise and grow their businesses, by analysing all aspects of running a retail business, making insightful recommendations and working on a long term strategic plan to sustain and take their businesses to the next level.

The programme involves a number of steps, the first of which is the public meeting, followed by a retail evaluation survey, group sessions, on-site analysis, retail plan and follow up sessions. The expert consultants will follow up with interim progress visits to make sure the retail plan stays on track and succeeds.

Last year, the retailers in Charleville and Youghal benefited considerably from the experienced retail team who helped and advised retailers in the areas of sales, promotions, marketing, merchandising and organisational development. Now the retailers of Ballincollig have the opportunity to do the same.

The Beacon Retail Programme gives each retailer that signs up, one-to-one guidance and advice with availability for a maximum of 15 retailers in each town to sign up for the programme.

Funded by Cork County Council and supported by County Enterprise Boards, the programme enables retailers to gain access to some of the country’s leading retail consultants at a fraction of the actual cost.

The programme will be available to a number of other towns in 2014. For further information on the Beacon Retail Programme, the resources available and criteria to avail of the resources visit http://beaconinitiative.net.
