‘Make Your Will Week’ in aid of the Mercy Cancer Appeal in association with Don Ryan & Co. Solicitors..

Don Ryan & Co. Solicitors in conjunction with the Mercy Hospital are giving people the opportunity to get their affairs in order and write their Will for free, a task that many people should do but put off year after year. This month the people of Cork will have the opportunity to tick the task off their to-do list as the team at Don Ryan & Co. Solicitors will once again support the Mercy Hospital Foundation through their third annual ‘Make Your Will Week’.

From Monday 21st to Friday 25th of May, the Cobh based solicitors will be offering free Will writing, or Will updates to anyone who goes along to their office, or to those who would like to make an appointment to meet them at the Mercy Hospital Foundation’s office in Cork City. In lieu of the complimentary Will writing service, anyone availing of the service is asked to make a contribution to the Mercy Hospital.

Speaking about ‘Make Your Will Week’, Don Ryan said “We have been working with the Mercy Hospital for three years now and are delighted to be working with them again to offer this free Will writing service. It is so important to make a Will and to update it at least every five to ten years, as by having your affairs in order you are securing the future of your family and loved ones. ‘Make Your Will Week’ is a great opportunity to avail of confidential and professional legal advice and at the same time support cancer services at the Mercy Hospital.”

All funds raised through ‘Make Your Will Week’ will go towards the Mercy Cancer Appeal, with funds specifically going toward the building of the Mercy Cancer CARE Centre. The Mercy Hospital Foundation is building this specialised Cancer CARE Centre next to the Hospital to provide a quiet, safe place for patients and families to help them deal with their cancer diagnosis or to receive ongoing support during their cancer journey through one-to-one support, peer-group sessions and bereavement counselling in a nonclinical and relaxed environment.

Don continued “If you have made a Will previously it is always advisable to revise and update your Will, especially if your circumstances change. ‘Make a Will Week’ is the perfect opportunity to do this and we are encouraging people to make an appointment with us from May 21st to 25th, and instead of paying for their Will, make a donation to the Mercy Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Appeal.”

Speaking about the ongoing support from Don Ryan & Co. Solicitors, Julie Harris, Head of Fundraising and Communications at the Mercy Hospital Foundation said “‘Make a Will Week’ is a great opportunity for people to get free legal advice and get their affairs in order, and we are delighted to be working with Don and his team in Cobh for the third consecutive year. Our mission is to inspire people to support advancements in research, diagnosis, treatments and care of patients at The Mercy University Hospital, the People’s Hospital, and this is only possible through the help of our supporters and donors like Don and his team, and those who make the conscious decision to make or update their Wills through them.”
