Manor West Retail Park- Active Citizen Day – Come and play your Part

To showcase the abundance of volunteering and leisure activities taking place around Tralee, Manor West Retail Park will host an Active Citizen Day on Saturday, September 28th from 12-5pm.  On the day, local voluntary organisations and sports clubs will be exhibiting in the centre and providing information on how the people can make the most of their free time now that the holiday season is over.

The Active Citizen Day will provide an opportunity to highlight the incredible work being doing every day by organisations and leisure clubs around Tralee. Local experts will be on hand to give advice, guidance and encouragement to those looking to find a new hobby and get involved in their community this autumn.

Manor West would like to call on everyone to come down on the day and find new and rewarding ways to become involved in the community. The event will see a wide range of hobbies and activities represented on the day with volunteers from Tralee Chamber Alliance, Tralee School of Music, Banna Sea Rescue, Tralee Tidy Towns, Men’s Shed Tralee, Tralee Rowing Club, Tralee Cycling Club, Kerry Adult Education, Tralee Tri Club and Tralee Harriers taking part. The event will offer all those both young and old an opportunity to see what activities are taking place around the town.

Derek Rusk, Centre Manager at Manor West Retail Park is delighted to bring the Active Citizen Day to the centre and says “This will be a great opportunity for members of the local community of all ages to come along and experience the breadth of activity which is taking place locally. I am thrilled that so many voluntary groups and sports clubs were eager to get involved – this is a great community event and I hope as many people as possible will come along on the day and meet some very special members of our community who work so hard to make our town an even better place to work and live.”
