Oktoberfest Beag is Back!

Last year’s Oktoberfest Beag saw over 7,000 visitors attend, and this year’s event is set it to be even bigger and better. Festival goers can immerse themselves in everything German, from tasty beers to authentic German dishes to funfair rides and a whole lot more. The world famous Edelweiss Oompah Band will be back to entertain the crowds with their traditional Bavarian music, traditional German toe tapping lyrics and classic games.

Taste buds will be set alight with traditional German food by Mr Hans Frankfurter, including dishes such as Bratwurst and Schweinsbraten (slow cooked pork), both served with authentic German mustard and the famous Hela curry ketchup, pickles and sauté onions. Visitor can wash the tasty dishes down with special Oktoberfest brew from Paulaner Beer, who are shipping in hundreds of kegs direct from Germany. All food and drink will be served directly to your table by German Frauliens dressed in traditional dirndls.

Ernest Cantillion, Oktoberfest Beag organiser is delighted to bring the festival back to Cork for the third year in a row and says “We are thrilled with the response we are getting so far from customers and it is great that we can bring the festival back once again. We would like to say a huge thank you to our title sponsors Paulaner, and also to Cork City Council for their great support over the years.”

Octoberfest Beag was voted Corporate Event of the Year 2011, and so far this year has once again seen a great response from the corporate sector, with some of corks largest companies choosing to hold staff parties at the event. Phil Ryan, event organiser says “We are seeing great interest again this year from corporates with enquiries up from 3,000 to 5,000. Businesses are looking for a cost effective and fun way to entertain their staff and that is exactly what Octoberfest can provide.”  Corporate packages for groups of over 20 people include a reserved section with food and drink vouchers for guests, and are now available.
