Kerry’s exclusive on-line wedding directory, www.weddingsinkerry.com has reported remarkable success as it marked the official one year anniversary of the launch of the site yesterday. Since its launch the website has generated over 60,500 hits by visitors seeking information on wedding venues and suppliers in the Kerry region. The most visited category of suppliers to date is photographers with over 3,000 hits reported. This is followed by bridal boutiques with over 2,000 hits and wedding bands coming in third at over 1,900 hits. Geographically, the majority of visitors to weddingsinkerry.com originated in Ireland, followed by the United Kingdom with the USA in third place. Other visitors to the website to date originated from Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Canada and even as far as Australia.  At the official one year anniversary of the website, outgoing Chairman of the Weddings in Kerry committee Pádraig McGillicuddy welcomed Thys Vogels, the incoming Chairman for 2010/2011. Commenting on the year to date, Mr. McGillicuddy said “We are very pleased with the success of the website over the past year. Our aim with the site was to showcase the wealth of resources that Kerry has to offer, encapsulating everything from its state of the art venues, its breathtaking scenery and range of suppliers to suit every budget. Through the support of local wedding service providers and the commitment of the member hotels we are building Kerry’s reputation as a Kingdom of Romance, and the ultimate wedding destination choice for brides and grooms both at home and abroad. I wish Thys every success in his role as Chairman for the coming year. Commenting on the future of the website, incoming Chairman Thys Vogels said “We look forward now to building even more on the website’s online directory in 2010/2011. The results have proved the popularity of weddingsinkerry.com as a source for information, therefore we would encourage all of Kerry’s wedding service providers that are not listed to become a member and to maximise their business potential. By working together we can offer more choice and convenience to visitors and further promote Kerry as one of the world’s leading wedding destinations”. Weddingsinkerry.com is the brainchild of the Kerry branch of the Irish Hotel Federation, and the first of its kind in Ireland; providing an all in one directory for couples seeking information on wedding venues, suppliers, local resources and tourist attractions throughout the county. Originally launched by ten of Kerry’s leading hotels, the website recently added the five star Aghadoe Heights hotel to its comprehensive portfolio of wedding venues. Over the past year, suppliers that appear in the online directory have credited the website with driving regular sales enquiries and business, proving the win-win solution that it offers on-line visitors and suppliers alike.
