Right At Home Ireland Marks National Carers Week With Creation Of 500 New Jobs 2026

-Demand for Carers Continues to Accelerate as Population Living Longer-

-Homecare provider launches new recruitment and rewards initiative during National Carers Week-

Right at Home, one of Ireland’s leading award-winning home care providers. has announced plans to create 500 new jobs across its nationwide network by the end of 2026 as demand for homecare services continues to grow across the country.

The recruitment drive coincides with National Carers Week (8–14 June) and comes amid increasing demand for carers and home support services as more people choose to remain living independently in their own homes for longer. Ireland is among the EU’s longest-living nations, ranking third for male life expectancy and ninth for female life expectancy across the EU in 2022, contributing to growing demand for homecare and support services nationwide.

To support this growth, Right at Home has launched CareFriends, a new referral and rewards initiative designed to help attract new talent into the care sector while recognising and rewarding existing employees. The service is now live across select counties, with a nationwide rollout planned across the organisation’s network in the coming weeks.

The new platform allows carers to share job opportunities directly with people in their own networks while earning points and cash rewards throughout the recruitment journey. Opportunities are available across a range of roles including Healthcare Assistants, Coordinators, Supervisors and Business Managers.

With 500 positions expected to be filled across the organisation by year-end, Right at Home believes existing carers can play an important role in helping to attract the next generation of care professionals. The initiative comes at a time when there are currently around 18,000 home care workers in Ireland supporting people in their homes, with demand for care services expected to continue growing in line with demographic trends.

“National Carers Week is an important opportunity to recognise the incredible work carers do every day in communities across Ireland. As more people choose to remain living independently in their own homes for longer, demand for homecare services continues to grow, and we expect to create 500 new roles across our network by the end of the year. CareFriends is about recognising and rewarding our existing teams while helping us attract more compassionate, skilled people into careers that make a real difference to people’s lives.”, said David McKone, Managing Director of Right at Home Ireland.

The initiative also reflects a growing focus within the care sector on employee recognition and retention. Alongside recruitment rewards, the platform enables carers to earn points for achievements such as completing training, receiving positive feedback and demonstrating exceptional commitment in their roles.

As Ireland’s population continues to age and demand for personalised homecare services increases, attracting and retaining skilled carers remains a key priority for providers across the sector.

The CareFriends initiative launches nationwide across Right at Home Ireland branches during National Carers Week.
