Teddytastic Father's Day Select Hotels of Ireland presents a Huge Teddy Bears Picnic in aid of Barnardos

Father’s day was extra special for the many families from all over Munster who attended a huge charity Teddy Bears Picnic at Fota House on Sunday June 19th, just one of many picnics that ran as part of a nationwide campaign in association with Select Hotels of Ireland

The fundraising picnic was in aid of the very special children’s charity Barnardos, providing a wonderful day of fun and entertainment including a very special visit from a very important guest Bob the Builder, as well as Kids Carousel, Let’s Go Camp’s Bouncy Castles, Kiddies Disco, balloon animals and Gymboree’s Play & Music development programs.

The excited children also received their very own goodie bag on behalf of Musgrave, and there was a special treat for the girls with face painting and cute princess make-up and hair styles. As a special Father’s Day treat, Dads received a wonderful demonstration from Select Hotel’s top chefs on how to do the perfect Barbeque!Una Young, GM of Select Hotels of Ireland, was delighted with the turn out on the day as

over 3,000 mums, dads and kids arrived at the event: “I am so pleased we had such a great turn as not only does it raise badly needed funds for barnardos but it also creates awareness for the valuable work they do for families around Ireland.”Not only did the Select team give up their time for free, but local community members and businesses were also involved.

Una added: “I can’t thank everyone enough for all their contributions. The fact that our Select team and outside businesses gave up their time for free and companies donated generous spot prizes, and of course Fota House providing us with this wonderful idyllic setting.”

Stephanie Whyte, Barnardos Assistant Director stated: “I’m very grateful for the support we have received here today. Everyone has been so generous and it’s great to see communities working together to support charities in the current climate. The Barnardos teddies were definitely out in force with many families ‘adopting’ them which is definitely an added bonus on the day. We would like to thank Select Hotels for all the hard work and the support they have shown to Barnardos over the years.”
