Kino

landmark

(ˈlan(d)mɑːk/) noun

1. An object or feature of a landscape or town that is easily seen and recognized from a distance, especially one that enables someone to establish their location.

The Kino has been a youth centre, a pool hall-slash-Moroccan Speciality Produce trading post, a canvas for street art and perhaps, most famously an art-house cinema. With its development in the 90s as a cinema, it had a 40 foot high sign constructed on the front, and it became a beacon for those in search of French Film Noir, great coffee and much more.

Fuzion Design were approached to create an identity for a new coffee shop and arts centre that would illustrate the variety of activities within the building, as well as celebrate the building itself. This identity would be used across a wide range of materials, including cups, stickers, internal signage, promotional posters and many other items, so the end result was 13 different variations of the logo, giving endless scope for different applications.

As projects go, this was one of our favourites to come into the studio!
