Clipex fencing and stockyards, who provide one of Australia’s leading fencing systems has opened its European Headquarters in Ennis, Co. Clare, creating six jobs. The European expansion of the family owned and operated Australian company is in partnership with Irish fencing contractor, Kevin Lernihan.
Founded in 2007 by the Olsson family, the Clipex fencing system was invented by Ashley Olsson. It offers a simple yet innovative clip-in design which is significantly quicker than stapling. It’s become a market leader in the competitive Australian fencing sector and is ideal for the wide variety of landscapes in Ireland. Ten years on, the Olsson family remain ingrained in the Clipex process from design to installation.
Innovation is no stranger to the Olsson family, who are famed for their innovative agri-solutions for generations. Ashley’s grandfather invented Olsson’s Salt Blocks in 1948, the country’s first multi-nutrient blocks, that remains 60 years after its invention, an Australian farm staple.
Speaking about why they chose Co. Clare to be their European headquarters, Ashley’s son and CEO of Clipex Ned Olsson said “Our business is built around people and in Kevin we have found someone who shares the same ethos as us. His solid reputation matches Clipex’s record of delivering innovative products that are game changers for the farming sector – more cost effective, time saving and often with strong health and safety benefits for farmers.”
Kevin Lernihan is thrilled to be associated with such a highly respected brand and family. Speaking about the partnership Kevin said, “The Clipex Fencing System is the single biggest change in fencing systems in over 100 years. The Olssons have revolutionised the way in which a strong, durable and easily maintained fence is constructed. It’s 10 times faster than traditional methods to install and we’re very proud to represent Clipex in Ireland, and Europe.”
From innovative fencing solutions, the Clipex product line has grown considerably since its humble beginnings in 2007 including sheep and cattle handling equipment to make farming easier. The Olsson family will join Kevin Lernihan at this September’s National Ploughing Championship in Tullamore where the patented Clipex Sheep Handler will also be showcased to its Irish audience.
“We’re excited to be exhibiting in our first National Ploughing Championships, which has transformed from a farmer’s fair to a cultural phenomenon” said Ned Olsson. “We look forward to meeting our Irish customers and demonstrating to farmers first hand, that with Clipex we can provide superior, safer, and lower maintenance products, while halving their labour and machinery costs.”
