21 September 2022

Ahead of National Fitness Day 2022, which takes place annually on 22nd of September, YMCA Dublin has launched a new childcare fitness class for young people aged 2 years and up. Hosted at the Y centre on Aungier Street, those in YMCA’s childcare now have the opportunity to take part in fitness classes involving a range of activities such as obstacle courses, stretches and yoga.

Kathryn O’Mahony, CEO of YMCA said “After implementing trial fitness classes over the summer, we saw just how much our young people enjoyed getting active in the programme and so we made the decision to launch it officially. It is so important that children experience a routine of exercise as they grow and develop into young individuals, and we’re delighted that they are having so much fun while doing so.”

“Here at YMCA Dublin, we have a broad range of fitness classes and Gym facilities open to all ages, from junior to seniors, and we welcome anyone who would like to join us this National Fitness Day.”

YMCA Dublin is a community-based charity that is committed to supporting children, young people and individuals in the community to develop skills, experiences, relationships and behaviours for healthy, confident and successful futures.
