Brook Catering Goes from Strength to Strength Securing Prestigious €500,000 Contract with Cork City Council

14 September 2009

Cork Company, Brook Catering has just been awarded a prestigious contract, worth in excess of €500,000 with Cork City Council, to supply catering requirements for the historic Cork City Hall.

Up against seven other catering companies for the contract, it was Brook Catering's ability to reduce prices without compromising on the quality of products or services that made their bid successful.

Pat Dunne, Facilities Manager for Cork City Council who was responsible for appointing Brook Catering stated "We were looking for some fresh ideas for our on-site catering facilities at Cork City Hall and Brook Catering's proposal leapt off the page.  They have a proven track record with some of the biggest on-site canteens in Cork and Dublin; came up with exciting new menus, including lower priced main courses, "Grab & Go" Sandwich Menu and even suggested new on-site cooking methods to suit healthier eating habits.  Very importantly, Brook Catering were able to help us with vital cost savings, while at the same time sourcing all their products locally and delivering all of this without compromising on quality in any way."

Founding Partner and Sales & Marketing Manager of Brook Catering, Sharon O'Donoghue, is very proud of the reputation her company is achieving.  "We are very proud to have won such a prestigious contract. We deliver a quality and varied product to suit all tastes on a consistent daily basis.  Like all our other contracts, our menus are designed using fresh local seasonal produce and all of the foods will be prepared on-site daily, we bake our own breads and pastries in house.  So the "Canteen" experience becomes a "Restaurant" experience. "Our Goal is to bring a proper restaurant product and service to the traditional canteen sector offering both quality and great value for money."

The two year contract, which is just one of many Brook Catering have secured in recent months, will secure the jobs of four already working on the on-site catering facilities at this prestigious Cork landmark, as well as creating an additional two new full time positions at the location.

Sharon added "At Brook Catering we understand that every corporate location is unique and has specific as well as evolving needs. We work outside of the box and make certain we listen to our clients and our customers to make sure that not only are their requirements met, but their expectations are exceeded. So we have many happy customers, and happy customers as we all know, lead to many more."

As well as being one of the leading on-Site Catering Companies in the country, Brook Catering is also one of the largest Outside Catering Companies, having just successfully catered for the biggest marquee event this year in Ireland, in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Rose of Tralee Festival.  "We catered for 1,400 guests with a 5 Course Banquet and it was a very proud moment for the company.  We are still receiving phone calls and messages of congratulations on the success of the event, including many from people in the industry, who are often the harshest critics! They genuinely couldn't believe the quality, level of service and attention to detail, while at the same time catering for such a large number of people. Main Course was served to all guests in 26 minutes.  It's testimony to the whole team who are all very much part of the success story that is Brook Catering."
