If it’s Good Enough For The Aussie’s........It’s Good Enough For Us!

Mike's 'Winter' BBQ Charity Taster Event  Mike Corcoran, Owner of Mike's BBQ and Catering, Clonakilty, special BBQ Pork meat and BBQ sauce is now available at The Oliver Plunkett in Cork City. To celebrate, there will be a delicious FREE taster night in The Oliver Plunkett next Thursday 15th December. Guests may also make a voluntary donation which will go to local charity - Cork Arc Cancer Support House.

Taking place from 5.30pm- 7pm, everyone is welcome to come along to the event, where Mike will produce a mouth watering selection of tasty BBQ Pork, Baby Back Ribs, and BBQ Chicken, all cooked 'low and slow' for hours and featuring Mike's  signature BBQ Sauce and Spice Rub.

Also for those of you wanting an alternative to a traditional roast this Christmas, there will be a barbecue demonstration on how to 'smoke' a Turkey, which you will also get to sample.

Chicago native Mike Corcoran is a pitmaster who has studied under World Champion BBQ Chefs Paul Kirk & Mike Mills.  He is a strong advocate of the 'low & slow' method of cooking on the BBQ.

Mike states “It is a great opportunity for the public to come into The Oliver Plunkett and taste authentic American 'pit' barbecue, as well as sample Mike's BBQ Sauce which, apart from the Oliver Plunkett, is available in several retail outlets including the English Market and selling quite well.”  Hilary Sullivan, Fundraising Co-ordinator at Cork ARC Cancer Support House, is delighted to hear of Mike's BBQ and The Oliver Plunkett’s Taster Night.  Hilary states “Mike’s BBQ Taster Night will help us to raise awareness of our services and reach out to families affected by cancer, which is a key priority for us.  We rely on fundraising to support our services and are dependent on the goodwill and generosity of the people of Cork who have always been so supportive.”

Cork ARC Cancer Support House provides emotional and practical support to people with cancer and their families. Counselling, therapeutic massage, reflexology, stress management, art therapy, yoga and tai chi are a sample of the options open to visitors.  All services are provided free of charge to patients and relatives and are supported solely through fundraising.

This is a free event but donations are greatly appreciated on the day.
