Manor West Retail Park Supporting Local Talent- June 9th & 10th 2012

With the surge in support for locally made produce and the huge success of the Taste Kerry event held at Manor West Retail Park in April, Manor West have teamed up with Original Kerry, the organisation set up to support the craft industry in the county, to hold a Artisan Craft Fair in the centre on Saturday and Sunday June 9th and 10th.

The Artisan Craft Fair will be held in the mall centre from 12pm to 6pm each day, offering a diverse range of home wares, lifestyle, and fashion products to entice the discerning eye to the benefits of handmade, locally produced craft work.

Derek Rusk, Manor West Retail Park Manager is delighted to bring yet another fair to the centre; he stated “We are so lucky to have so much talent right on our doorstep and this is an opportunity for us in Manor to support small Kerry businesses by allowing them the use of the centre to showcase these local resources and talent.”

Deirdre Johnston, Co-ordinator of Original Kerry is thrilled with this opportunity to be working with Manor West; she said “Everything at the craft market will be designed and produced by hand within an 80km radius of the Manor West, and everything from candles, furniture, pottery, stationary, bags, hats, jewellery plus much more will be on display.” With the thousands of visitors to the centre this gives a great opportunity to sample a wide range of Kerry produced products – all under one roof.

Deirdre is passionate about supporting local and added “It is important not to forget our local craft industry when it comes to choosing gifts for others… and even for yourself this year. The support from Manor West allows us to showcase work that is not normally easily found in high street stores. We are delighted that the value Original Kerry offers to public places, events and festivals is being recognised and spear-headed in Tralee by the Manor West Retail Park.”
