The range of colours this season is vast yet subdued, as in addition to black and white, pastel powder tones and bold reds will play an important role. ara’s new collection also gives a nod to the popular metallic trend with many of their shoes glistening like stardust, adding shimmering accents to enrich summer shades such as fuchsia, green and blue. Polka dots, stripes, flowers and creative prints also play a vital role adding a fresh, summery flair.

 

The collection consists of around 185 models and picks up on the current season’s must-haves. There is a strong focus on a number of themes, primarily making use of black, black/white and white in its “Reality” theme, accompanied by cool metallic tones. Blues are at the core of the “Mediterranean Blue” theme, complemented by light, summery neutral tones and soft pastels in the “Chiffon Dreams” theme. The “World” theme brings together various shades of brown and beige as well as burnt spice colours, accentuated with exciting metallics in gold and bronze. Colour plays a lead role in the “Art” theme with electric blue, fuchsia, green and red at the heart of this fashion theme.

Patent leather, nubuck, foulard as well as calfskin, lambskin and goatskin leathers are the preferred materials for ara designers, who accentuate them with metallics, leather with floral prints, camouflage prints, snakeskin looks and sporty fabrics to create confident styles.

 

In the high-fashion segment, decorative details such as fine rivets with a facet finish, perforations, beads, decorative elements, ribbons, flowers and butterflies are an absolute must.

Where platform heels and wedges are covered with upper leather or leather veneers, in true ara tradition combining style with comfort, ara gives heels and platforms an entirely new look by putting a discreet metallic finish on pressed leather veneers. Two and three-tone sports soles and ultra-light soles have also been given a stylish makeover. With up to 130 different processes ranging from moccasin to hand-sewn for each footwear design, the brand is famous for tailoring footwear to suit men and women who are on their feet for most of the day with shoes that are virtual 3D works of art and design.
